As third-pedal enthusiasts are bombarded with talk of electric cars, autonomously driving cars and eliminating gasoline and diesel engines, the future can seem bleak. But as we showed with our recent blog on the Jeep Magneto 2.0 Electric Wrangler the move to alternative propulsion for vehicles doesn’t mean the end of shifting your own gears. And here’s another example that doesn’t run on gasoline or diesel but does have a TREMEC TKX 5-speed transmission – this one makes its horsepower by burning hydrogen.

A hot button topic (to say the least) these days are EVs (electric vehicles) and the various aspects of owning and driving them. For those who love having a manual transmission in their vehicle, the perception is owning an EV means losing the driving enjoyment of shifting your own gears. But the Jeep Magneto 2.0 EV Wrangler concept vehicle solidly proves that you can still enjoy the fun of a manual transmission, featuring a TREMEC Magnum 6-speed.

The next stop on the NMRA racing series is at the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, June 9-12 with the fastest Fords and Ford-powered vehicles from across the country. Part of the event will be round two of the TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout series. And, for the first time ever, the TREMEC GT500Shootout that promises to be a titanic clash of Shelby power not seen since the days of Cobras duking it out on road courses in the 1960s.

TREMEC is excited to announce the release of a TR-4050 5-speed transmission for two-wheel-drive applications. It’s perfect for truck and SUV enthusiasts looking to upgrade their two-wheel-drive vehicle from an old 3- or 4-speed manual transmission. It’s also a great way to upgrade from a factory 5-speed with a significantly stronger unit.

As the 2021 NMRA All-Ford World Finals and Ford Festival approaches, it’s time to get ready for last TREMEC Stick Shift Shootout of the year! The stage is set for the best manual transmission racing as participants in the True Street class face off for the title. The World Finals will be held at Beech Bend Raceway Park from September 30-October 3 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
