Michigan Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley completed a three-day trade mission to Mexico where he led members of the Michigan Economic Development Corp to participate in the Automotive Meetings forum in Queretaro – a supply chain-oriented business forum that brings together prospective automotive suppliers with major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
During the trip, Mr. Calley visited the main TREMEC transmission and component manufacturing plant in Queretaro. Antonio Herrera Rivera, TREMEC Managing Director, led the tour and explained, “We have a long history of operations in Michigan. We are now expanding these operations because of Michigan’s leadership in auto manufacturing and the strength of the talent found there.”
Lt. Gov. Calley concurred. “The investment underscores the strength of our talent in the automotive sector,” Calley said. He added, “This demonstrates Michigan’s leadership in auto manufacturing jobs growth, and we’re pleased TREMEC chose Michigan as the home for its first major U.S. manufacturing facilities.”
