The ATS luxury sport sedan is a watershed vehicle for Cadillac and a breakthrough that will change the way General Motors develops all its upcoming vehicles, stated the Free Press article.

The 2.0-liter inline-4, 272hp model with 260 lb-ft of torque comes in three driveline configurations, including one with a TREMEC six-speed TR-3160 rear-wheel drive manual transmission.  According to Car and Driver magazine First Drive Review (July 2012), “The manual gearbox is precise, slick and satisfying.”

In related news, the jury for the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards announced these two vehicles have been selected as finalists from among dozens of new or substantially revised vehicles for 2013. The winners will be announced January 14 at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Click here to read the Car and Driver article.

In Mexico, the TREMEC TR-4050 5-speed manual transmission is offered in the 3.7-liter V6 Ram 1500 with 235 lb-ft of torque. The transmission features aluminum die cast housing for a lightweight, durable construction. All forward gears are fully synchronized using carbon-fiber type synchronizer materials to make silky smooth shifts.
